Team Manager's Guide to Ordering Custom Uniforms on a Budget
A uniform budget goes wrong in two places: items you forgot to count and decisions made in a hurry.
Start with a full count
Before you look at prices, list everything the team needs this season. Most budgets come up short because they only count jerseys.
- Jerseys for every rostered player, plus goalies
- A second set if you need home and away colours
- Socks and pant shells for hockey
- One or two spares for call-ups and mid-season signings
- Any add-ons you want, like fight straps or a different collar
Get sizes from every player before you order. Don't guess sizes. Custom jerseys can't be returned for fit.
Price it out per player
For hockey, sublimated jerseys are $79 for the Classic or Fan cut and $99 for the Pro cut, in CAD. Socks are $29 and pant shells are $45. Add-ons are priced per jersey: $8 each for a fight strap, lace-up collar, tapered neck with insert collar, wrap-around collar or Pro weight fabric, and $5.50 for reinforced elbows (the Pro cut already includes them). An embroidered finish is also available at a higher price. For other sports, see the pricing page.
Work out a per-player cost, multiply by the roster, then add your spares. That gives you a number you can take to the board or split among families.
Use the quantity discounts
There's no minimum order, so you only buy what you need. Larger orders in a single design earn free jerseys:
- Order 20 jerseys in one design, get 1 free
- Order 50 in one design, get 3 free
The discount counts jerseys in the same design, so a club that puts several teams in one look can reach the next tier faster than each team ordering its own. If you're going to a tournament, the tournament package starts at 10 jerseys.
Know what doesn't cost extra
Sublimation dyes the ink into the fabric, so the number of colours doesn't change the price. Player names, numbers and sponsor logos don't add per-jersey print charges either, and the print won't crack or peel.
Your first mockup is free. Every order gets a digital proof showing each jersey, name and number before production, and changes are free until you approve it. Shipping costs [shipping cost policy], so check it at checkout and include it in your total.
Order early, not fast
Time is part of the budget. Design and proof take 3-4 business days depending on revisions. Production takes 4-6 weeks after you approve the proof, and shipping takes 5-7 business days depending on location. Rush production takes 3-4 weeks and adds 25% to the whole order; contact us if you need it.
Count back from your first game or tournament and start at least two months ahead. Ordering early also gives you time to collect sizes and payments without chasing families the week before the season.
Stretch it over more than one season
A design that isn't tied to one year or one sponsor lasts longer. Your design is saved in Team Manager, our online roster and order tool, so when a new player joins you can reorder a single jersey that matches the rest.
Sponsors can also cover part of the cost. Their logos print at no extra charge, as long as you have the sponsor's permission to use them.
Wash jerseys inside out in cold water and hang them to dry. A set that's looked after doesn't need replacing as soon.
